Delicious and flaky Puff Pastry Cheese Pockets made with buttery puff pastry and melty cheese filling. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or quick meal, these pockets are easy to make and customizable with various cheeses, herbs, and fillings.

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or favorite blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs like oregano or parsley (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten, for egg wash
  • Flour for dusting work surface

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly dust work surface with flour. Roll out puff pastry slightly to smooth creases.
  3. Cut puff pastry into 4×4 inch squares (adjust size as desired).
  4. Place a generous handful of shredded cheese in the center of each square. Sprinkle with garlic powder and dried herbs if using.
  5. Fold the pastry over cheese to form a triangle or rectangle. Press edges firmly with a fork to seal.
  6. Brush tops of pockets lightly with beaten egg to achieve golden shine when baked.
  7. Place pockets on baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving to avoid hot cheese burns.
